The questions we hear most, in plain terms. If yours is not here, ask us. A person answers.
Start with your furniture, not the floor. In a living room, the front legs of every piece should sit on the rug. In a dining room, chairs should stay on the rug when pulled out, which usually means 24 inches beyond the table on all sides.
A hand-knotted rug is tied knot by knot on a loom. It takes months and lasts generations. A hand-tufted rug is made with a tufting gun through a stretched canvas. It is faster to make, plusher underfoot, and gentler on the budget.
Closely, but not exactly. We dye in small batches, so subtle variation in tone is part of the craft and unique to your rug.
Yes. A pad keeps the rug in place, protects the weave from grinding against the floor, and adds a softer step.
They always have been. Obeetee has paid fair wages across its facilities for over a century and was the first licensee of Woolmark for hand-knotted rugs. Terra is built on that standard.
Yes. Most designs can be made to order in custom sizes and colorways. Custom pieces take twelve to sixteen weeks. Our trade team can help you spec them.
